Hello!  I am Jenn and the maker behind 7 Mile Designs Wood Co.  In 2016, 7 Mile Designs was born out of being too cheap to pay someone for work.  Truly.  I had a list of things I wanted to do around the house but was too impatient to wait for my dad’s free labor and too cheap to pay someone else to do it.  What’s left for a girl to do?  Learn how to do it herself.  Over the last 5+ years, I have become a self-taught woodworker and built a small business along the way.  In 2022, it was time to rebrand and refresh.  7 Mile Designs was changed to 7 Mile Designs Wood Co. to better reflect the medium in which I specialize.  My logo got a complete makeover.  I built a new website from scratch to showcase my new ideas.  Around here, I do a little bit of everything.  They say a jack of all trades is a master of none but is better than a master of none.  I mostly do home décor these days but furniture and DIY projects are also in my wheelhouse.  It is so gratifying to bring someone’s idea to life.  I get just as excited about it as they do.  I’m so thankful that you are here. Take a look around and connect with me!

Now that you know who I am, let me introduce
you to the rest of the team.

This is my ride or die – Little Dog.  Yes, that really is her name.  She’s the best companion I could have ever asked for.  Where I am is where she is, unless, of course, there are loud noises.  The shop is constantly full of loud noises so she doesn’t love it in there but she’s always waiting at the door for me to come back inside.  She loves to pose for pictures when I am trying to photograph builds so she often shows up in posts.

No shop runs smoothly without a shop assistant.  Mine just happens to be called Shop Ass.  His main job is to lift heavy things and haul plywood sheets for me but he’s pretty good at other things, too.  He builds my jigs because I loathe that task.  He’s my extra set of hands during a precarious build or glue up.  He’s sometimes my target of stupid jokes.  Most importantly, he supports my dreams and goals and is always willing to let me bounce ideas off of him.  I may not admit it to him, but he comes up with some good ideas, too.

My Forever Employee of the Month – Big Dog.  Big Dog loved the shop.  Between chewing on scrap wood and somehow napping while I made so much noise, it was his happy place.  He was such a good dog.  We lost Big Dog in 2021 and the shop hasn’t been the same without him.
